👋 Welcome to The Cave Project

A movement exploring the tensions of tech, culture, and life with Jenny and Greg Swan. Let’s discover, debate, and lean into the future. Together. With love. And some swear words. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

😎 The Cave Project 101

The Cave Project was created by Greg and Jenny Swan in 2024. It’s here that we are discussing, learning, and growing as our ever-changing digital and technological landscapes are shifting. The Cave Project exists to explore the tensions of tech, culture, and life as they intersect.

This project is creating space to discuss and challenge things like:

  • the assumptions marketers and “business people” make when chasing innovation but forgetting the humans behind the data

  • the tension and challenges parents and kids face as they negotiate screen time, digital identity, and raising humans in a pixelated world

  • how to be a human when technology is always on, always listening, and always demanding your attention

  • the emotional weirdness of going viral, getting ghosted by the algorithm, or building a brand when you're also just trying to live your life

  • what it means to grieve, grow, and connect in spaces that are digital-first but still deeply human

🥳 Who Are Jenny & Greg?

Sometimes we swear about all of this change, but mostly we acknowledge that technology isn't always as neutral as we'd like to think it is, and change is just a way of life these days. And it’s our distinct viewpoints coming together that make for good conversation…

  • 😎 Greg has been in the communication and marketing spaces for a long time, doing things like sending beef jerky to space, sending faxes from Google Glass, and creating games where you have to hold the right arrow on your keyboard for two hours to earn a free fast food sandwich. He likes to take tech and push the limits of what you think is acceptable. It's FUN.

  • 😻 Jenny has a psychology degree and an insatiable curiosity about humans. She is going back to school to be an accountant and loves gaining insights from data, taking what she’s learned about human nature as a daughter, parent and friend, and applying that more human-meets-data side to the “next big thing.”

  • 👯 The Cave Project is an extension of the dinner table conversations we've been having together for decades. And we're inviting you to our table, because we want to make this table bigger. And better. And more complete.
